Information About Our Programs
Join us for any of our public meditations or events. We welcome all self-identified women, whether you are a newcomer, first-time meditator, experienced practitioner, or just want to drop in. Our offerings are given in the spirit of dana (Pali for generosity). Participants can make a donation or offer to volunteer as a form of offering dana to the community, but there is no obligation to do so. Below is a snapshot of our regular weekly meditations and events.
Weekly Offerings

Daily 7 am to 8 am Pacific Time
These morning meditation offerings are led by different teachers throughout the week. The routine can differ depending on who is teaching but the basic offering includes guided or silent meditation, reflection, and a question and answer period. Thursday mornings also include some music or chanting.

Sweatpants Dharma
The atmosphere may be cozy but the Dharma goes deep!
Wednesday evenings 7pm to 8:30 pm Pacific Time
This is our weekly meditation and Dharma talk. We recognize that in this era of COVID, many in our community are tired and experiencing screen/zoom fatigue at the end of the day. We encourage you to put on your PJs or sweatpants, bring a cup of tea and make yourself comfortable. We aspire to make this gathering a nourishing, inspiring, and enlightening experience. It is led by one of our Guiding Teachers or a guest teacher. See the event calendar for details.
7:00 - 7:30 Sitting meditation
7:30 - 8:15 Dharma talk
8:15 - 8:30 Q&A and dedication of merit

Sunday Community Gatherings
Some Sundays, time and place varies. Consult the event calendar for upcoming events.
We value community and belonging as part of the spiritual path. To help facilitate the development of real spiritual community (sangha), this offering is centered around giving community members the opportunity to connect, reflect on Dharma topics, and listen to each other's wisdom and stories. New community participants are always welcome. These offerings are facilitated by an Assaya Sangha resident teacher who often offers a Dharma theme for the day. We end our session with our two sangha questions, "Is there something you need that the community could offer?" and "Is there something you would like to offer to the community."
Sample program:
2:00 - 2:10 Meet and greet
2:10 - 2:50 Meditation and movement followed by song or reflection
2:50 - 3:10 Dharma talk
3:10 - 3:30 Small group breakouts
3:30 - 3:50 Large group discussion
3:50 - 4:00 Sangha questions and dedication of merit

Special Offerings
In addition to our weekly offerings, we have had several ongoing community organized offerings. These are peer organized by Assaya Sangha members under the guidance of the Leadership Circles.
