  • About Shakthi

Shakthi Ganeshan takes deep joy in the transformative power of mindfulness practices as taught by the Buddha. With over 25 years of immersion in the Dharma, she is dedicated to making teachings accessible, particularly for women and people of color. Her teaching invites all individuals to discover greater happiness and freedom.

Shakthi is an internist and pediatrician, having completed a double residency. She is a master yoga teacher, an Ayurvedic guide, and a mindfulness teacher. Her childhood yoga and meditation studies, and her ongoing study of yoga support her connection to the Buddha Dharma, teaching, and practice.

She has undertaken multiple meditation trainings, including multi-month retreats at Insight Meditation Society (IMS) and Spirit Rock Meditation Center, under the guidance of teachers such as James Baraz, Jack Kornfield, and Joseph Goldstein. In 2017 she completed the Community Dharma Leaders program and is one of the Founding Mothers of Assaya Sangha.

Shakthi enjoys cooking nourishing Ayurvedic meals, writing, singing in song circles, sacred dance to nurture the soul, and hiking to connect with nature.
