The Winter Solstice offers a rich landscape of symbolism and wisdom from the natural world. Dharma wisdom lies in honoring the darkening days and their invitation to turn inward—to rest, listen, and regenerate. At the same time, we light the flame of warmth and connection, remembering the nourishment and joy of coming together in community.

Join the Assaya Sangha for this beloved annual tradition of celebrating the Winter Solstice through reflection, connection, and meditation. As our final large gathering of the year, it is also a time to rejoice in all we have cultivated together and look ahead to what we want to carry forward into the new year as a Sangha.

We’ll begin with relaxed community time and a dessert potluck—bring a favorite seasonal treat to share. This will be followed by a two-hour program led by several Assaya teachers, including Dharma reflections on the themes of the solstice and winter season, meditation, and guided contemplative practices. We’ll end with the refuge ritual. We'll offer refuge cords to those who join in person.
