During this daylong retreat, we’ll gently explore how to bring awareness to our emotional life. Drawing from early Buddhist teachings—especially a foundational text called the Satipatthāna Sutta—we’ll focus on what is often called “mindfulness of mind,” or simply noticing the state of our mind, including emotions.

Together, we’ll practice meditation that invites us to observe emotions as they arise and pass, just as all experiences do. Rather than getting caught up in or overwhelmed by what we feel, we’ll learn how to relate to emotions with more curiosity, steadiness, and care. Over time, this can help us respond to our lives with greater clarity, balance, and compassion.

The day will include a mix of guided meditation, walking meditation, small group sharing, personal reflection, and a Dharma talk.

Throughout the retreat, we will:

  • Explore classic mindfulness teachings in an approachable and practical way
  • Reflect on our own relationship to emotions
  • Learn simple, supportive ways to be with emotions using awareness, kindness, and balance

This retreat is open to all self-identified BIOPC women, whether you’re new to meditation or have an established practice.
